Design Life Bringing design into every aspect of life: from diy culture to working in the design field

Wednesday’s Weekly Reader: Double Stuffed!

Well, as promised, Weekly Reader is back with 2 weeks worth of links to share. Twice the fun? You betcha!

Analog is Better:
Has anyone else noticed a resurgence in non-digital-based technology? Personally, I’ve always worried that I was born in the wrong decade: I love antique things, and especially film, too much to totally get along with the digital age. I should be posting more about my foray’s into using my antique camera once the film gets developed. Here are some great finds (all courtesy of Coudal)…

A Couple How-To’s of Interest:

And, of course, the German Connection:

  • Steven Heller blogged this past week about Weimar-era Germany and Austria’s Notgeld, and has some beautiful examples like the one I pulled from his page below:
    Courtsey of Dailey Heller
Here’s hoping he puts out a book about these next…(or maybe he already has? who can keep up with them all?)

  1. Great roundup. Love those TLRs; and, yes, cameras are pretty big in Japan—from Holga to Hassleblad.

  2. Thanks for the PS Actions link! This will come in handy while I’m in DE. I’ll send some pictures of Nürnberg over. Cheers.

@johno: Is the film readily available? Here’s hoping that FujiFilm, etc. don’t decide to go the way of Polaroid!

@MP: Have a fun and safe trip: I can’t wait to see all of the photos! (wish I had more vacation time myself *sigh*)
