Flickr and an Update to the Portfolio Page

On 23, Nov 2008 | No Comments | In Design, New Work, Updates | By Lorraine

Well, today I set up my Flickr page. This is actually my second attempt at Flickr: the first time I used it was for sharing photos while living in Germany. While that worked great for family and friends, I didn’t keep it up once I moved back. So now my second attempt is going to be focused more on design rather than snapshots of friends. I began with uploading my portfolio so that I could update the Portfolio page with a slideshow. It’s a quick fix for now, but I’m getting closer to relaunching the portfolio side of the site soon. Of course, with the holidays around the corner, I suspect that will take me longer than I’d like…

In any case, go check it out!

1. There are so many photo sharing options! I’ve kind of done the same thing. I started of using Flickr for sharing personal photos, but I don’t want to pay to do that, and I upload lots of personal photos! Now, I only use it for my photography (I’m a photography hobbiest–is that what it’s called? Or is it amateur photographer? Probably not that. I’m not that good yet!).

Oo: you’ll have to find me on flickr (unless you already did and I haven’t seen it yet…). I’m really not okay with them charging for flickr. When I first got one, it was unlimited for free and then yahoo bought them. ugh. Oh well, we’ll see how long it takes for me to fill it up.

  3. I know. Me neither. I’d rather see adds and have access to all the features. Seriously? I can’t have more than 2 sets for free? Ridiculous.

  4. I didn’t know you lived in Germany. That’s awesome! The history is amazing. I’m wanting to a take a trip sometime to Germany/Europe and visit some of the WWII museums. So did you learn how to speak german while you lived there?

@Tim: I worked there for a summer at a design studio called Stilbezirk in Nürnberg. It was amazing! I’ve actually been studying German since I was in middle school so it was a great opportunity to combine the two.
