Wednesday’s Weekly Reader: Home Sweet Apartment

On 21, Apr 2010 | No Comments | In Design Life, New Work | By Lorraine

We’re back to business with our Weekly Reader series now that the move is complete. Of course, with a whole new place to decorate, what is on my brain but housewares and decor? This week, I’ll focus on an item I’ve already picked up and more that are still on my wish list. Turns out, I have expensive taste! (I may have to scale back my ambitions…)

Rugs
Scouting out the perfect rugs to match the furniture and color schemes that I’ve picked out has been hard! Making the wish list are the following:

Anthropologie Rug

Anthropologie $398 (hey, there’s always sales, right?)

Come In Mat

Generate $39 (I’d just be afraid of someone taking it if I put it Outside my door: it’s that awesome.)

Urban Outfitters Rug

I just got this rug on sale for $10 at Urban Outfitters this past weekend. I’m not sure if it will go by the back door, front door, or elsewhere yet.

Clocks
I still haven’t found the perfect clock yet…but if money were no object, you can bet for sure that I’d be getting this one from Kitsune Noir’s latest venture:

Neverend
Neverend: Dan Furderberg $198

Accents:
I’ve ordered a neutral couch so that I can change the look of my room based on accent pieces. So while I may not necessarily put all of these in the same room at the same time, I do still want ‘em!

Test Tube Vase D*S

I love the idea of mixing in some scientific elements such as the above test tube bud vase idea from Design*Sponge…turns out, beakers/test tubes/Erlenmeyer flasks are easy to find cheaply on Amazon.

State Pillows
I feel like this Wool Felt Nebraska would go quite nicely next to a matching Missouri: gotta show the love! Love, California $38 ea.

Keep Calm and Carry On
I’ve been wanting one of these since I first saw them years ago, and since now you can find them in pretty much any color, it would be easy to find one that matches any room. Keep Calm Posters $14.95

Of course, all images are taken from each artist’s or store’s site and are copyrighted by them.
