Radio Arte
Client: Radio Arte, WRTE 90.5 FM Chicago
Website design for Radio Arte, a Latino public radio station run by youths in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Created with a team of 3 other designers during Camp Firebelly 2009. The entire site was redesigned from the ground up in only 10 days during the charrette-style workshop serving local non-profit organizations. Designed to reflect the station’s bilingual culture and its important role in the Pilsen neighborhood, the site invokes a sense of individuality and personal voice.
The website was designed alongside environmental graphics and marketing materials for the station’s recording studio. Hand-lettering was also shared with the environmental team: most notably, the large “Radio Arte” displayed on the side of the building. Like the website, the building’s exterior was meant to showcase the individuality and personal voice of participating youths.
